Open Relationship Models

Open relationships, polyamory, and other alternative relationship concepts challenge traditional partnership ideals—and at the same time open up new possibilities for deep connection and intimacy.

Many couples ask themselves:

  • How do we want to shape our relationship?
  • What does love mean to us?
  • What are our needs?
  • What does loyalty mean to us?
  • How can we deal with jealousy and insecurities?
  • What needs underlie our relationship model?

The counseling session provides a safe space where these questions can be addressed openly, respectfully, and without taboos. We create clarity about:

  • Personal needs
  • Personal boundaries
  • Acceptance and understanding
  • Mutual agreements
  • and dealing with challenges

The goal is transparent, appreciative communication that allows for:

  • Self-reflection and mutual understanding
  • Emotional security despite openness
  • Shaping the relationship in alignment with one’s own needs

From my perspective, alternative relationship forms do not mean less commitment—but more awareness, more dialogue, and often more courage and intimacy. It’s about consciously living connection and jointly defining what closeness, loyalty, and love mean to you.
